For the last year I have been pestering my wife to take pictures of things in my tank to post with questions or to use as desktop backgrounds. I have decided to begin learning to do this myself by embarking on a project to catalog the progress of life in my tank. I hope that it will help me see growth and coloration changes in my corals a bit more objectively. For starters, the camera I will use for this project - my wife's Nikon D300 DSLR with a 60 mm fixed focal length macro lens. Might as well use the nice camera she has for her photography business instead of the little point and shoot I have always tried using.
I think one of my first tasks will be learning color balance settings to avoid one picture looking blue, the next white, etc.
