For all those that got COEPODS at the Christmas Party!

Check this out from WilliesWhiteWorm http://www.willieswhiteworm.co.uk/pr...ods_print.html

    Keeping your Coepods

    Temp

Can be cultivated at room temperature but breed faster at 25° (C)
    Breeding

For breeding you will need the following:
    • A Container with a source of light and an airline (without an air-stone); e.g. A small tank with a light is best.
    • Water; A salinity of 1.023 is required.
    • Food; micro algae, dead plankton. Fish food and ground grains can all be utilized as copepods feed on detriose and algae. I find photo plankton does the job.
    Harvesting

Ready for harvesting in 4 weeks. Using a length of airline, collect the Coepods from the side of the culture vessel (tank). A turkey baster can also be used. (Can be harvested up to twice a week).

    Tank(s): Red Sea Reefer 170
    Lights: 6 bulb ATI Sunpower
    Experience: A while

Why are you not suppose to use a air stone?

I think they add to much air to the bottle, but im not really sure. I think the air tubing is more for agitation purposes than for oxygen.
