Currently, fishman (Alex) has it. Please PM him to have it passed on to you. When you receive it, please PM me to let me know so I can keep track of where it is. Also, have a look at this thread to verify it will fit in your tank as it's a little on the large side in size. Thanks.

    Who has the trap currently?

I have been trying the last two nights to catch a pesky 4 stripe damsel and a sergeant major with Darrell's trap (Advanced Tanks), but I think the narrow opening is spooking the more skittish fish. The tangs are in and out of the thing all the time, in fact I cannot keep them OUT of the damn trap, it's just getting the nuisance fish in.

Any chance this can be brought to the meeting on Saturday?

    Thanks,
    John

No worries, please PM me when you get it and are done with it. I'd much rather drive to Visalia than Fresno if I had to make a special trip for it.

If it's a small fish like a damsel it's pretty easy to make a trap out of a gatorade bottle... just cut the bottle off at about 1/3 of the way from the top (right where it cones into the body of the bottle). Then take that part you cut off and invert it so the mouth of the bottle is pointed inside towards the bottom. Secure the halves with some tie-ties or string.

Don't feed for a couple of days then sink the bottle with some food in it.

Like any trap you need patience and you might catch the wrong fish before you get the one you are after but it works really well.

Just a reminder that this trap is in fact owned by me but available for loan to CVR members. Any use of it needs to be requested through me directly and any time it is transferred between members, notification needs to be relayed to me. I am requesting this so that I can keep track of its whereabouts and ensure it doesn't become "lost". Thank you.

    Alex,
If you don't mind dropping it by my place tonight, I can transport it to the meeting. I may not be home tonight but if not, just leave it on the front porch next to the front door. PM me if you need directions again. Thanks.

Got it. Thanks Alex. Assuming Troy won't be needing it after all, I'll bring it to the Saturday meeting for Carl to use next.

Already tried that one for two weeks, the damsel won't go NEAR it, the tangs are too busy ramming the opening trying to get at the food.

The sergeant major was caught in the bottle once but escaped, he won't go anywhere near one either.

PM Weatherson. I can tell you that I haven't had my go at it yet, not sure who has it right now.

I am going to be at Fresno Zoo on Saturday, then stopping by Minh's house to pick up some frags. It would be nice to snag the trap. I would certainly be done with it by the frag swap, if not earlier.

Can whoever has this trap PM me? Any issues picking it up Saturday?
