    Lack's 70 gallon rimless

I love build threads! Since my 90 gallon was inherited, this will be MY first build.

The tank is a Cadlight's Artisan II 36"x24"x18" with low-iron glass on three sides. The back pane is black with a trapezoidal center overflow.

    Lighting: 8-bulb 24" ATI Sunpower
    2 x Giesemann pure actinic
    4 x ATI blue+
    1 x ATI coral+
    1 KZ Fiji pink.

    Sump: Trigger Crystal Elite 30.

    Return: Laguna 1350

    Skimmer: Bubble King Mini 160

Flow: 2 Tunze 6095 if I can stand having power cords inside the tank. I have two MP10s as backup just in case.

These are all the goodies I have gathered so far.

Custom steel stand should be done soon...thanks Jordan!

    Pictures will follow.

What purpose does the tube in the back left serve? Right side is flow from tank, front compartment is return and back compartment is fuge. Is the tube just another place to put some a flow source?

Anybody want to start a pool to see how long before Joey can't stand cords in the tank?

Gonna begin with straight T5. The nicest LPS tanks I've seen seem to use T5 lighting. If I miss the blue LED POP, I may replace the center two T5 reflectors with an aluminum heatsink and DIY blue LEDs.

[QUOTE=archaic37;846466898]What purpose does the tube in the back left serve? QUOTE]

The acrylic tube is to catch and soften the flow of water through the refugium section of the sump. Many people like to run deep sand beds in their refugiums. As the water enters the refugium, flow is directed into the tube and straight back up instead of disturbing the sand.
