Hey guys... just checking in and wanting to update everyone on California Clowns.
I am still getting requests all the time for clowns and it's killing me. Since I've stopped production we have hit a situation here in Porterville where wells are going dry throughout the area. I've been really lucky and still have water in my well but many of neighbors have not been as fortunate. With the drought going on and just not enough rain to make me comfortable yet - I had to stop breeding. I could not justify the many gallons of water I was going through every day when people next door are spending hundreds of dollars per week to have water delivered.
That being said... I still have many of my pairs and I'm keeping them fat and happy. Once things turn around I will be flipping the switch back on.
In the meantime, I've been chomping to get back involved with something saltwater related and I'm going to be launching a new project soon that doesn't involve anything wet. (at least not for me) I've been talking to great people over at Rising Tide Conservation ( http://www.risingtideconservation.org/ ) and will be partnering up with them to do something pretty cool. Rising Tide is pretty awesome and if you don't know they are all about protecting reefs by helping to develop marine breeding techniques as well as promoting commercial production to help preserve our reefs.
I'll get more info out once I have some more of the kinks hammered out!
